Shopping Cart Delivery & Inspection Instructions

Thank you for choosing Carts4U. Shopping carts are large commercial products and are often shipped by freight carrier. Most shipments arrive without a problem, but it is important to inspect your order at the time of delivery so that any freight damage can be documented properly.

Before You Sign for the Shipment

Please inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading (BOL).

  1. Look over the entire shipment. Check the carts, packaging, pallets, wrapping, and cartons for visible damage.
  2. Take photos of any damage. Photograph the damaged area, the overall shipment, and any damaged packaging or pallet.
  3. Write any visible damage on the delivery receipt or BOL before signing. Be specific whenever possible. For example: “2 carts visibly bent” or “pallet damaged and wrapping torn.”
  4. Contact Carts4U right away if you notice a problem. Prompt notification gives us the best opportunity to help address the issue with the freight carrier or supplier.
Important: Signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading without noting visible damage can make a freight damage claim much more difficult. Please do not sign that the shipment was received in good condition if you can see that it was damaged.

What If the Shipment Is Seriously Damaged?

If there is significant visible damage, ask the driver to remain while you document the condition of the shipment. Note the damage clearly on the delivery paperwork and contact Carts4U as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances, refusing a severely damaged shipment may be appropriate. When possible, contact us before refusing the shipment so we can help determine the best next step.

After Delivery

Please inspect the carts themselves as soon as practical after delivery. If you discover damage that was not visible while the shipment was packaged, take clear photos and contact us immediately with your order number and a description of the problem.
